Merry Christmas!

Been a busy fall, Conner has been on a wrestling tear! Kids good, and this is his first year. Cheyenne just did her last big Fall concert with school and we have been visiting colleges as she pursues her music career. And as far as that little one Cassie has a full time job trying to be just like her mom. Oh and she loves to make fun of me. Especially when it come to me "going to the gym" Shes the one most likely to drive me to drink.

Big Radiothon this past weekend thanks to us99 listeners who helped us raise over a million for the kids at St,Jude. In this economy that's plain and simply amazing!

This weekend we start our snowmobile race season, Its a lot of fun, I don't hang out at bars, Don't play video games, Don't watch sports all weekend long. This is my one thing that I have the most fun at all year and it lasts only 3 months. I will have some results on Monday, Hopefully we can grab a win

Those of you that follow my racing have probably heard of Garretts wreck, Garret was racing over the summer and had what most riders would consider their worst nightmare he was jumping a double in Lake Mills Wisconsin and didn't clear his landing, The result was a horrendous crash crash that left Garret paralyzed from the waist down. The bills are numerous, Garrets a great kid with an unbelievable will to get back to some kind of a "normal" life although no one is sure what normal will be. Sad day yesterday for racing in general. I want to personally thank all of you who sent there well wishes and showed there concern. In my words it was a perfect storm for this to happen, and it was going to happen yesterday. I was nervous all weekend after watching practice, the cars where fast and to close. Danica said the closing rate in the draft was to much, she was the fastest on Thursday doing a 224.788 average speed!!!! The track has to much grip which makes everyone comfortable and that's why the speeds where up.

My opinion and it is the same as most people I talked to, was there where to many inexperienced drivers in the field, and to many cars! I could name the drivers they all where concerned with and it was the same drivers that started the whole wreck just being STUPID at the 10 lap mark. There is a reason that alot of the drivers that raced yesterday do not have a full time ride, they are stupid and show no respect to other drivers. Danica for some reason did back off just before the wreck happend because she felt something was going to happen. I will tell you that she was scared going into the race and every driver there all admitted the same feeling, the perfect storm did happen, and we lost a friend.

I lost a good friend in Dan Weldon, and his wife Suzi. I have been close to him since 2005, he always commented I was his dad over here because I acted just like his dad (crazy and often outspoken, I hear, and a little emotional), and said he wished his dad could be there for him as I was for Danica. I became close to his father Clive though the years as well. If anyone thinks that racing is a bad thing just because people get hurt or killed that is the wrong way to look at it. It is what they/we do it defines who we are. We all know this can happen and it does not make it easier. Life will go on and we all will remember Dan, and if you would have asked Dan before the race if he knew he would be hurt he would have raced anyways because it is what he loved to do more than life.

Here we go, ESPN pulls Hank Jr's Monday night football song after comments made on fox and friends.

Talk about a slow news day, "Hank compares Obama to Hitler"

No he did not, He used it as a reference to how crazy it was that the "Crying games" John boenher, and Obama were golfing together.

Lost in all of this is the fact that he Called the speaker of the house (a Republican) one of the three stooges, And before you call Hank a hillbillie raciest, He said his favorite Gop running for pres is Herman Cain.

But here's the real dealeo, Hank looked stupid making these comments, Hes not relevant in Nashville anymore, And he just seemed out of touch. The real Idiot is the producer of the Fox and Friends morning show for having him on the show.

Funny how the world works, Your reading the blog of a lunatic morning man on a goofy FM radio station. I have as much credibility to comment on this stuff as Hank has to comment on the President of the free world.

There's a new book called "Sweetness The Enigmatic Life of Walter Payton"

In this book we won't hear of the Walter much of Chicago knew, The Walter helping Kids, Coaching at Hoffman Estates High School for free (Basketball) Or the Walter that was just a good stand up guy.

Were going to hear that he had problems like everyone else, That his life wasn't perfect, That he had a girlfriend, he used painkillers, drove his cars to fast and got into a few road rage incidents. Hell I think this could be about any guy in my neighborhood.

I loved Walter, I cried when he died, I was sad when he didn't score a touch down in the superbowl a fact that will haunt Mike Ditka forever.

The Walter I know and remember is the one that has his arm stuck out like a weapon battering opponents, The one that my my son has on his wall in his bedroom (its one of those fathead things) My son was born the year Walter died but he knows more about him than any other player, #54 is a close second. This is a guy so respected that Lambeau Field gave him a standing ovation on more than one occasion.

Did anyone think he was an angel? I love the fact that got out of his car to kick the shit out of a guy who road raged him, I like that he wasn't perfect, Gives all of us mere mortals a chance to relate to him a little more.

I wont buy the book, One because he did more good than bad, And two because I don't read! But in this day and age of thugs in sports, Guys with guns and linebackers that get away with murder, Im pretty sure this book wont tarnish his reputation too much.

He was the trinity of football, He could catch, Run and lay a block on anyone.

Rest in peace Sweetness Chicago knows you for you touchdowns not your transgressions.

Its funny how I make a living and how I spend my free time. My co-workers are a different breed than the guys I would normally choose to hang out with, They wear suits, make big deals, run 100 million dollar radio and 400 million dollar TV stations.

The guys I hang out with are salt of the earth, Most hardworking guys that use their hands to make a living, The kind of guy that would always have your back, Its not to say they work harder than the suits in the world its just different.

I suppose I should also qualify my statement here with this: my real world hangout guys all mostly live in rural America.

My thoughts as I sat down to type this blog was this, "Where have all the Cowboy's gone"? to quote a song.

In the past week I have dealt with guys that I thought were good guys, the ones that had your back, But it seems to me in this world of Me Me Me, That the real men have disappeared, Is it face book? Is it hiding behind a keypad and acting like you have some kind of power? I'm not sure. But it seems no one can man up and its makes me want to puke.

Recently at a big concert in Chicago I had a manager explain to a client that, "although not always politically correct, Ray will never stab you in the back, HE will however stab you in the chest"

I paused and thought want a awesome compliment, What you see is what you get, What you hear is what you get, and that makes me proud, A lesson some of the guys I hang around with should learn, Or perhaps I should get new friends.

Ten years after 9-11 and I'm still pissed.

After watching all the coverage, I just sat there like it was yesterday. The silent parades, the police and firetruck with lights flashing for no reason didn't have an effect.

But the Program we ran on CBS Sunday night was brutal, I sat there with my kids and just shook my head, To watch the President get the news front of that classroom of kids in Florida, to see that look on his face as he got the news was something I had not seen before.

Than the towers, the story's, the people jumping to their death, just brought it all back.

I tried to explain to an 8 year old that it most likely will never happen again, I asked her if she was scared and she said no, I kissed her goodnight, than went back downstairs to hang out with the Con man my 13 year old. that was a different story, He just said wow , how did that happen. How could we let that happen?

All good questions, When a 13 year old asks, How did we let known terrorists get on airplanes?

That when I explain to him the big load of shit that is political correctness, How we cant stop people who basically look like the kind of people that have been doing this kind of crap in the name of religion since a stone could be thrown.

I than have to tell him about homegrown terrorists, like the uni bomber and those punk ass Columbine Highscholl kids,

It was a long night, it was a long day, Its been a long ten years.

Than you tell him the world is mostly a good place, and it because of people like his Grandfather that have fought for our freedom, That's when he says he wants to protect the country when he gets older, And that's when I say you will need your moms permission for that!

Its a crazy world. But thanks to this country and those that love the western way of life, Its a great world.

As you may or may not now I love snowmobiles and I race. A lot of my buddies race motocross in the summer, They race cars, Run, Bike , Swim, Do things that can cause injury, Sometimes death.

Over the past weekend a Buddie of mines kid was in a serious MX crash, He was jumping a "Double" in Lake Mills Wisconsin and landed it short, The impact nearly killed him, He was flown via flight for life to UW Madison, There was thought of taking him to Milwaukee but they didn't have the time.

8 broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a spinal cord injury, As you may imagine the last injury is the one of the most concern, As for know he cant move below the waist and in the course of an instant life has changed.

The saddest part is the kid is golden, tall, good looking, well mannered, and as nice of a 19 year old kid you could ever meet. I'm told we are never given a challenge we cant over come, And the kid is in good spirits,

If you have kids, and they do extreme sports its up to you to get them the proper safety equipment, especially a neck brace, I wear a brace made by Alpine Stars.

I'm planning a benefit for this kid soon so stayed tuned, In the meantime some prayers for Garret Goodwin are in order.

The boy is getting big!

Been a while since I posted here, So here's a early summer update. My Lil man is not so Little anymore, Hes in the 6th grade and is almost as tall as me, The Dr's say he will be over 6'2' for sure. Hes a blast to watch grow.

Hes talented beyond what I ever was he can play any sport and play them well, His mom deserves the credit as she is the coach-driver-tutor.

The kid beats his sister to death, I used to get mad and tell him to stop but the more I watch the more she deserves it.

A while ago I took him to a hawks game and it dawned on me that hes not that little of a kid anymore, Hes funny and a cool hang. He can have conversations and hold the attention of Lance Briggs who he met at he game, and Robbie Gould loves the kid.

The best part is hes just a solid kid with a big heart, I have no lofty expectations for him, I just let him roll. At 12 he has already out classed his old man.

I about laughed my ass off when Cheyenne asked me that while we were watching the tail end of the Ten Commandments. I guess to a 16 year old the production of the "greatest story ever told" is a little Corney at best.

Don't get me wrong I mean no disrespect to the story, as a matter of fact its kind of a "brush up" on my limited biblical skills.

We than spent the final ten minutes of the show poking fun at Moses who would later go on to be president of the NRA, and Yule Brynner who is a dead ringer for Mike Quadde the latest Cubs skipper, The rest of the night Conner kept yelling "whose your moses now"

Next Saturday night I will have to go out on the town so I'm not left sitting at home watching crap, Who know perhaps I can turn it into a party of lascivious behavior, Really after all I guess my life story may not be the greatest ever told but it works pretty good for me!

Thought I would share my favorite picture of the Rayce season, This kid on the #311 is what I consider the best rider in the series I race in. His name is Brent Miller, His smooth and fast, and not bad on a snowmobile either!!!

The last race of the year I not only ran with him, I beat him. No one beats this kid. Hes 21 and is really a solid kid.

So for the year we had Four feature wins and four second place finishes with one fourth place at Eagle River. Not a bad year at all!!

Funny how snow does something for the spirit, When I was a kid I lived for snow days, I loved it. I think its due to the fact my dad would let me ride our old Ski-Doo around and around the house, It drove my mom nuts as well as the neighbors.

Now some say I have an obsession with sleds, and I would agree. I live for the winter and I still love to ride in circles, Although these days it a little faster, and there are more guys riding in circles with me. And I still love snow days. My best memories of the winter are of my Dad and Me always in search of snow, Driving hours upon hours looking for that elusive ride in winters where snow was scarce.

My dad worked his butt off so we could always have fun, He worked 6 days a week ,working sheet metal so I could stay home and goof off, and when ever I would wreck one he would fix it right up (after a little grumbling) some would say I was spoiled, But I would disagree, He taught me the value of ownership with the sleds. And know that it took money to do the things I loved I would have to work my a@# off. I always took care of our fish equipment, always washed his trucks, Kept his shop cleaned up, That's what he taught me respect for what we had. It kept me out of trouble, (6 kids i grew up with all did hard time) I always had cool stuff but I always busted my tail for it, So when people question my talking about toys I will back them down faster than my bosses when I ask for a raise.

Bottom line is this, This awesome winter weekend I will be out on the Ice going in circles, Making memory's with my buddies, and going back to work on Monday so I can fuel my need for speed. With every turn I will try and turn a faster lap. And win or lose at the end of the race some in a smile under that carbon fiber helmet there will be a smile and a radio voice that will utter a "thanks dad" although no one will hear it I think he knows.

Enjoy this weather don't curse it!

Blizzard warning!

How often do we here that? You know how this town gets when we get a few inches of snow, What the heck are we in for this week?

Looking at the radar theres no way this misses us, My Buddie Amy Freeze says anywhere from 12 to 20"! That will close a school or two, and it will shut down airports, Gonna be fun to see all the TV stations with the camera trucks on the over passes with up to the minute snow totals, Remember in this town mayors get elected or don't, When we can handle a major storm!! gonna be fun!

Sharpe, Win the MVP at the NHL all star game pretty good stuff, Almost as enjoyable as Clay Atkin sing the National Anthem, C'mon man this is hockey! How about Jim Conielison?, whats next Johnny Weier playing goaltender? Adam Burish in a feather boa?

Have a good week and remember, Fill up the car, Charge the cell phone, get bread, Milk, Toilet paper, battery's, Its a storm in Chicago. I love how this town acts over a storm! Its not like where in the middle of Montana!

It could really be a new reality show, Cute 7 year old selling girl scout cookies. How do you say no to this little girl? You don't.

I'm not sure how you roll with you kids but inevitably every two weeks someone is selling something for someone, or something that benefits the Cub Scouts, Brownies, The Ramblin Ray foundation for a new full carbon frame road bike. And your sort of guilted into buying.

So what do you do? Well if its Cassidy anne you buy, and you buy at least eight boxes. Cuz what we are teaching our kids is responsibility, That in order to abide and uphold the code you need to sell. Now I wont let my kids go door to door, Or let her sell at the local grocery store.

That's where I step in, Bring the order sheet to work and go office to office, and some would say my tactics are typical of a Chicago politician: Listen you need to buy or else......or else this beautiful girl wont get her patch, Than I show a picture! Cant say no to that can you!

So when someone brings their kids stuff to work, Crack open the wallet and spend a little something! there cute! and being good kids, Oh and buy the Thin Mints they keep you thin!

Heres my problem of being a Bears fan:

1) I have friends that play for the team. Sometimes that makes it hard for me to be an "honest" fan. Yes I said on the air that the Bears would not win more than one game in the playoffs, Trust me Robbie Gould hated that so much that he accuses me of having a "relationship" with Aaron Rodgers. But I also have to be honest. The Packers have a better team and a better coach. Doesn't mean I choose them over the beloved Bears, Just means if you really follow the game you know the Bears were outmatched and out coached.

As you know I have a ton of friends from up North, I love the state of Wisconsin, For years we joke about how great Illinois is, Really our state is broke, and we laugh at them? The second problem is that for the rest of my life this game will be rubbed in my face, and if your a Bear fan you know what your in for! this is the game that we will be hearing about for 40 years. Do the players care like we the fans do?

The fact is the Bears are a few players away, Help Cutler out, He got killed this year most sacked QB in the league. I hate to say it but there's next year! The future is bright!

Now get ready for an off season of what about Jay, and Fire Lovie,This after all is Chicago football! Let the second guessing begin, In this town its an art form!

Wow is all I can say after a whirlwind weekend,

It started with a bee line trip up to Eagle River to race in Friday night Thunder, as far as racing gos this is the mecca, the big daddy the shiz! than it was back to my shop at Mom and Dads place to tear an engine out of TJ's race sled and get that back to the engine shop before 6am Saturday. Than it was in the Tundra and back home by 1pm so I could attend the homecoming for a Marine.

Than it was the Bears game Sunday, I was fortunate enough to be in a box with my friend RJ Melman. It was a blast, Friday night I was with all my Wisconsin Buddies racing smelling like race fuel and beer. Sunday I'm in the best seats at the Bears game, in the Box next to me is George Lucas (Star Wars) Jesse Jackson, and Desirie Rodgers, The big event planner for the White house that got bounced for letting the party crashers in! It was just what my life is all about, Normal guy with wild opportunity's.

And all the while there was The Mrs Chugging beer from a bottle!

That's how we roll. Lots of fun.

C'mon man

those the words of my buddie and teamate TJ Patrick after the first race weekend in Ironwood Michigan. It was the beast of times and the worst of times....

This is TJ's return to the Ice oval, Our deal was that I would finance his ride if he would do the build, I huge overtaking to build two race sleds from nothing. This guy has his heart and soul into these things. Me....I just have money.

So he was all set to drive his 340 back to prominenece, and we tested all week to get it ready, From the time we took this thing off the trailer we had problems. I lost count at how many times he rebuilt the motor. End result? TJ never made the finals on Sunday.

The good?

The Ramblin'Raycing 250 IFS was rollin' I always said if we lost a race it would be from lack of talent on the drivers behalf (that would be me)I ran pretty good in the quuilifing races with two seconds behind my friend Brent Miller, This kid is smooth and fast and has no family to provide for (thats makes him 5mph faster right there)all in all I thought if I could just run top 3 it would be a great weekend.

Well in the 250 X final, I get the hole shot and lead into turn one, But that lasts for a half second untill Brent outdrives me and I follow for a lap. Im right there with him down the back when his motor blows! Than Im in the lead and it dawns on me that I could win this thing.

Funny thing about the guys I race with is they will race you hard, But they will also cheer you on, As the #311 sat in turn 4, Brent was waving his arm like a nut to tell me to run hard cuz one the the Clark Motorsports guys were right behind me! as I came down to take the cjeckered I get passed by the Neuman #54, Than I just hit the gas and drove to the win.

It was an awesome day, One of the best ever. next week we do it again.

How weired is it that a C student from West Chicago can be asked to meet the President of the United States?

Got a call on Tuesday to meet President Obama as he exits Air Force one on Saturday. I think its funny that the PR machine for the Dems knows our little radio show is pretty mass appeal, and if we meet the Prez were gonna talk about it and hence the folks on the left get a little boost.

Now most of you know I'm pretty much right down the middle not too far to the left or right, Like most of us I think we all just trying to live our life's, get our kids thru school and hopefully have a few years to kick back after we have worked to damm long.

I will admit I voted for Mc Cain, call me crazy but I like the Bush era tax cuts. I think we should all be able to keep a little of the cash we have worked for, Dont get me wrong I think we need to pay taxes, but how about a flat rate?

Now bullshit politics aside, How do you miss this event? I don't dislike Barack I think he just like G-Dub inherited a mess. Hes going to do what he thinks is best and I will support the Office.

I will Go Saturday and post the photo here Monday! I mean how many chances does a kid C student from West Chicago get to meet the POTUS?

Thanks to the White Sox for having me out to toss out a pitch the other night. 5 years ago you couldnt get near the place, This year was a little different! although the Sox by Cubs standars are having a banner year and will probably finish 10 to 12 games over .500.

I should really thank Mark Burhle. Hes the guy that got it done. What a good guy, He say's he's in town till Sunday than its back to Texas.

How about that Woman on the South Side of Chicago that shot the 13 year old brat for harrasing her, Wow! Chicago is turning into the wild west. Her neighbors applauded her, The CPD have filed no charges! The woman is 77, I have a feeling the kids wont be back!

We have no idea whats going on in the Chicago neigborhoods! count your blessings that hopefully this dosent go on where you live.

Its the weekend! Yay! That's a word i usually reserve for 16 year old gurls to use, But in this case I'm ready for the weekend!

I have nothing but a few football games for Conner and that's it. A sweet weekend. No bee lining up north, No station stuff just a WFO weekend. and that's a good thing.

I thought I would post a picture of last weekends results from the Reunion weekend at the Famed Eagle River derby track In Eagle River Wisconsin. Your Ramblin ray sleds won 3 1st places overall, and two 2nd places! Not a bad weekend at all!

That's what my kids have been saying for the past several months as I have squander my time on stupid snowmobiles. My wife is really a saint as I spend hours on sleds that I have resurrected form shit piles all over North America.

This weekend I will head North to Eagle River to take part in the "reunion" show. That's where a bunch of guy's who love old snowmobiles hang around and try and look cool. Its a fun weekend to get up north and see the fall colors and see some cool old sleds.

The sleds that Im showing this weekend are two that I have spent a ton of time,.. and a considerable pile of money on.

Its funny how these shows are, You never know who will judge the shows and if they even know what they are looking at, and some of the judges are jealous of what ya have so you dont have a chance. The reason I do this is so I can remeber the sled I used to ride, Not so I can get some cheap trophy!

Im heading up to see mom and dad as well so no matter what it will be a great weekend I will check back Monday to let you know haow it went!

Well, singing the 7th inning stretch at Wrigley was damn cool yesterday! Gina Conner and Cass were there to see me sing, It was cool to have Conner up in the booth with me. He got to meet Ron Santo.......

Now we are White Sox fans, and I have to tell you that meeting a legend like Santo was pretty cool, We meet a lot of people but Santo is more than a celebrity in this town. What makes Santo cool is not his baseball prowess, But because what he does for JDRF, And what he has come through. Losing both legs, And keeping his great attitude is what makes him a winner.

After meeting all the folks at the Cubs you learn why they call it the "Friendly confines"

I will always be a Sox fan but after yesterday there may just be a little Cubbie blue in me.

Biking for Breast Cancer!

Yesterday we finished the bike ride I do every year for breast cancer. It was a wild ride from Sheyboygan Wi to Gils Rock in the tip of the Door county peninsula all the way back down to Chicago.

day one started with a easy ride and hills, and a bike rider we came across seriously injured in a nasty wipe out, this bike riding thing can get kinda brutal when you don't wear a helmet. (wear a freakin helmet!) we loaded him up into a pickup truck and got him to the ambulance, I'm sure hes fine. nothing some stitches and a few months of healing a broken rib wont take care of.

days two and three were long, in the 90 to 100 mile range, this year Kim that put on the ride took on a few more riders, Joel and Earl both had personal reasons for riding and raising money and both were awesome riders. these guys killed in the hills and were fast on the flats. just like the guy the rode with!

day four was rain and the worst flooding Milwaukee has every seen, I feel bad for those who have Had to endure such harsh flooding this year. You would have to be there to see what it did to this town, I wonder when Nashville will do the relief concert for our friends to the north?

Day five could not have ended fast enough. We picked up my friend Gregg Olsen (#82 tight end Chicago Bears) who agreed to do the ride back in May. Gregg's a riot. When you hang with him you forget his just a young man, I would say kid, But I don't think he likes that. His Mom overcame breast cancer last year, and for several years he has put on his "Shake the lake concert" it raises a ton of money for various cancer projects. Hes a great guy with a big heart, and hes just fun to have around. He rode the last 30 miles and he now knows why bikers were the tight shorts that look funny.

We all rode to Rush university medical center, where Governor Pat Quinn proclaimed it Pink Ribbon Cyclist day, It was cool, Pats really a good guy. He has my vote and I'm pretty much always been on the other side of the aslie! say a prayer for this guy he has his hand really full! the Star of the day was Kim Cook who started raising money and this ride several years ago, I'm sure she took that proclamation home and hung it on the wall!

I love that tonight Barackstar will take to the airwaves to declare that gulf seafood is "fine to eat" That the Gulf will be "even better than before" Really? how you gonna do this oh great one?

Interesting how lax this adminbstration was to respond the graetest enviromental catstophie of our lifetime. By the time this is over the Exxon Valdeeze will look the the oil removed from my face at 16 on a strydix pad.

Its not Baracks fault that this happend but this is how he will be judged. Its the same thing that happednd to G Dub with how he handled things post 911. All of the sudden its time to grow up in this young presidency.

Now I cant wait to hear how he's going hold BP acountable. He will say that payment to those effected will be expidited in the gulf. That we are going to get through this. Fact is if we hold BP accountable they will fold, Go up in flames like the oil rig itself, Than who pays? You and me baby,

Remember this is a nation of people who cry when we rescue a 16 year old girl form her sail boat. We say whos gonna pay for this? were out raged that some one could let this happen. Where were the parents? how could they do this.

Ok so who doesn't need a day or 5 off work, I had taken Monday off to take care of some personal biz, But by Saturday night i was sporting a 104 fever and a cough that would make a 30 year smoker blush. went to the Dr Tuesday and told me what I had was the collapsing of lung and bronchial tubes and I was just a smidge from pneumonia Yay! here it is Thursday and its not much better, And to make matters worse no Hawks game to watch!, I haven't worked out and I'm bored.

Here's the deal boys...The show is set up for the ladies!!! that's why we talk Glee, a show I have never once seen. Nor do I care too. I watch the news, Speed, Racing re runs, and the News. I will admit that on many occasions my channel surfing takes me to Univision. Yes Univision, That's where one of my favorite program airs its called Bella Latina. m not sure what its about but man the girls are beautiful!

Spent most the weekend working on.....Snowmobiles. I know its crazy but before you know it I will be busy with all sorts of summer stuff so I need to get this stuff done so I can be ready for winter!!

Today was the American Lung Assoc' stair climb at the Presidential towers downtown. Now I have Run marathons, Done Tri's, Ridden 120 mile on a bike in a day, done kayak races, Bike races, and Race snowmobiles but this was tough! I'm not sure why this was so hard. But the breathing was intense. As i got though the first 40 flights my chest was tighter than Lisa Dents wallet!

Out of all the stuff I have done this was by far the toughest.

Racing, Obama, and Waterparks!

Spent this past weekend watching some friends race at the Lake Geneva snow cross, It basically young kids doing crap on sleds that defies explanation. then the crazies that can pull back flips? really? When you think about the size of a snowmobile, the rotating mass of a track, and being able to flip it? that's nuts. It takes youth, practice, broken bones, large kahonies, and an athlete to do that. and the money? unless your top 3 in the pro's its not worth it!

Thanks to all of you that voted for the great Barack. this guy has no concept of his Nancy Pelosi run circus. If you rely on these people to improve your life you have none. Most hard working men and women will work thru June this year just to pay taxes to bigger Government. And its not just me, He has forgot his Black constituents to the point that there was a summit in Chicago this weekend among many respected leaders of the African American community. We all have a right to expect one to keep his promises. He has done nothing. And the hope is gone.

Well its that time of year again, the time of year when my wife and kids head to the Wisconsin Dells. Why would anyone do this? lets float in the lazy river and grab an ear infection or two. I will admits the rides are a hoot but my God, Its a small fortune. She could go to Florida for less! But the kids like it and that's all that matters. I think they like to go without me cuz I always complain that the whole whoring out of that part of the Wisconsin river is a sin. Its one of the most geological fascinating parts of my favorite state yet its all been lost to Jelly Stone parks and the water slides. Oh and fudge and go-karts. For me its just depressing. I look out the window at a Wisconsin that's lacking snow, Usually I would still be riding sleds this time of year, But due to global warming from water parks and fudge machines, The snow no longer lasts up north!

So long Uncle Joe.

Yesterday I drove to the lake shore town of Port Washington Wisconsin. Home of the Fazios. This had been one of the places my family and I went to as kids to visit Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Joe. Now these two family's have gone there separate ways as the kids (4 in our family 8 in the Fazios) found their paths in life.

To try and blog about My dad and Uncle Joe is near impossible there is just not enough space in the Internet for story's that have become legend, My dad never really had a close relationship with his brother George. I think he tried but as some brothers , and as some friends part ways over their life Dad and George just were two very different people. Dad was always good on his word, and you couldn't find a harder worker anywhere. George he was just kinda along for the ride. (nothing wrong with that either). But to be close to big Ray you needed to earn your way to his soul, hard word, and payback on your word was a necessity.

My Mom ,and what I would call her closest sister, aunt Lorraine is How my dad and Joe met. funny how when you're a kid you don't know how things work, My Uncle Joe was just always part of the family landscape. You go to weddings birthday party's, camping, fishing, and there just family. always around. Well as time goes on you drift from the kids, That's cuz we have to grow, we find our way. We move on but we always keep the memories. Sure we stay close to our brother and sisters, and we form the next Fazios and Stejskals. But when your in Illinois and there in Wisconsin you cant help but drift apart. Its the way of the world.

The friendship and legend of my dad and uncle Joe is just nuts, My Dad and Joe would hunt, Fish and they would drink like no two men I would ever meet in my life. They got in fights (not with each other) and my Dad would get his ass kicked while Joe an Italian bad ass right down to the core could whip three guys at a time. they at times worked together, And my two favorite storeys of all.....The one where Dad and Joe got so mad at each other that they actually grabbed their hunting rifles and were going to duel like two cowboys. (keep in mind this is a long time ago the late 50's maybe early 60's) Mom and aunt Lorr always joke they should have let them shoot each other.

The other is when they were going to a bachelor party and driving down 31st street in Brookfield at a high rate of speed, It was a little late at night and Joe didn't feel the need to stop at the stop signs. They were supposed to be home by midnight, Or I should say that was their curfew. Well according to some accounts it was around 4a.m. .As they blowing through stop signs my dad (I'm sure as clam as he always is), says to Joe "you gonna stop at any of these stop signs?" The reply: "what the hell for we can stop tomorrow".

Through the years the boys grew up, Both went to AA and both quit drinking. Over the past few years I would always see Joe and Lorraine at mom and dads place in Northern Wisconsin. Funny how we would just sit and talk, I love a good story and a story teller. I think its part of how guy like me can make a living though something as silly as a speaker. My dad and Joe tell/told great story's. but as I look back now they were story's of a bond. A love. A friendship born out of two guys who hooked up with two girls. How cool is that?

The end result in these two men, is what they will leave or have left behind, two family's with many kids, grand kids and great grand kids. The way they grew to be there for their kids every need, at any time. and doing it when they had no or Little money.Both self made, hard working men. two guys cut from a moment in time when your worked, and failure wasn't an option. the end result is an American success story.

As I walked up to pay my respects to Joe, I tried my best to not try be too emotional. It had been a week since he passed, and I didn't want to do that to Nancy, Lorrie, Dawn,Cindy, Jenny, Joe Jr, Billy, Or Micheal. But here was a guy who never in my life said a bad word to me, and trust me in the scope of the bigger family picture, I was kind of an outlaw. (The family part that resides around Chicago? some think that I was a little to wild back in the day and they had some opinions as to how they felt) Not Joe he was just Joe and I think that's why my dad and him were such great buds.

As I said my goodbyes I couldn't hold it in. And its not that BS that we think of our own mortality crap. It was because I was thinking of my Dad. Big Ray didn't make the funeral due to the fact that he was is in Florida with my mom. They had stopped to see Joe just about a week before he passed. He was glad he did. I think he said his goodbyes there. I think the boys knew.....

It was at that point that I knew that as I was saying goodbye to Joe a big piece of my Dad was there with him. and when they closed the coffin we said goodbye to a little bit of both of them.

Ramblin Raycing!

Getting ready to race at Lake Holcoumb Wisconsin

Well, We took the #224 Goodwin-Ramblin Raycing Moto-Ski to the race track this past Saturday.

The results, Not too bad for my first race. I have raced before on what you would call "cross country" and that was back in the mid 90s. This past Saturday was a test of sorts. A test to see if I still had some race left in me. And a test to see if all the work (and money) in this sled paid off.

I guess I would say it was a success, I came in 4Th out of 6 in both my races, The first was just me getting used to the sled, the second race I got it! I took the hole shot and actually drove the sled. The first race the sled drove me.

I think I would have come in second in race two, But in the final lap in turn two I was run across by another sled and had to back out of the gas. But I was right there. within striking distance. And that's when I had my Epiphany that I was hooked, that I have the ability, and that this is my new passion.

When the guy who finished in front of me told me "I knew you were there, I could hear you" that did it. I was pretty nervous before the race, I wasn't worried about me. I just wanted to run a clean race and not get into anyone. These guys put a lot of time in these machines (and cash) And I didn't want to get in the way.

Thanks to Brad Miller for all his help. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be out there, Thanks to Kurt Krueger as well. These guys are what Friends and sportsmanship are all about!

We hit it again this week in Minnesota! I will keep you posted!

Government Motors and Obama killing Toyota?

So lets look at this "Recall" and think about how this is really going to effect you and me in this swell of big Government.

First, Disclosure: I get paid to drive my Tundra. Do I have to drive it? No, It was my choice to endorse Toyota and the Tundra. (and yes the radio station loves the revenue it generates) I used to do the same for Ford and Chevy in the past. I will be honest here. Do think it was a risk to drive a foreign car on a Country station? It was a HUGE risk.... I mean were "Americas country station by God!"

But here's my deal I have had 5 Tundras over the past 3 years. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM! None!

Is there a problem with sticking gas pedals? I don't know I'm not an expert, But I do know this. This recall was voluntary on Toyota's part.

Now enter the Obama administration, And Transportation Secretary Ray La Hood saying "don't drive your Toyota's? Really? pretty broad sweeping statement.

These are the thoughts of Lil old Ray here: Never one for a conspiracy theory, But it sure seems to me Like a politically driven perfect storm.

Fact is Toyota's never been a favorite of the left due to the fact there mostly no union workers. and there not necessarily a favorite of the powerful UAW.

The next thing I would question is the fact the the US owns Government motors and Chrysler and the Prez wants his money back so the bailout can work. Do you think its a coincidence that all of the sudden the # 1 car maker in the world is now a target?

I don't. I have no interest in how any of this plays out. Trust me when I tell you if Toyota took their deal from me there would be another one on down the road. But my interest is in the friendships I have made with a ton of Americans who work for Toyota.

If this can happen to Toyota it can happen to anyone. Trust me I want the US Auto industry to do well, I own a Hummer H-2 and a Ford Edge. But this recall is a little more than Ray La Hood in a grassy knoll than you may think.

Funny how the Toyota recall is coming back to me:

Got a few calls this morning of listeners that cant articulate into word's their disdain that I drive a Toyota through my job.

Bottom line is this, Toyota has a quality product. Its not my fault that greedy unions and inferior products killed Detroit.

Toyota has been a partner with US99 and me for 3 years, That's how I feed my family. Its how business gets done. And I have to say I love their truck. I love their customer service. I love that this is a recall that Toyota did on their own accord.

When I drove my Ford power stoke, and the International built engine broke 3 turbos in 3 years before there was a recall,.... I still drove it.

When My wife had to have the Firestone tires replaced on one of our Explorers we had them changed, no big deal.

There's now a recall on Gina's escape that has to do with the brake system, My Ford dealer will fix it.

But here's where the problem is with Toyota: They have kicked the US's auto making ass for a long time. So now there's chink in the armor. Hey game on its what we do when someone messes up we watch and hope they fail! Ask Obama.

For me the bottom line is this, and a little advise Toyota stocks fell to a seven year low yesterday. Yet this year they will be Americas # 1 selling car. you do the math, My guy always says buy low. I'm buying!

Yay its the new year!

Again it the same Ol' Lang signe!(sp?) It time to do the unthinkable, the almost impossible....Its time to get Bonnie Green a date. I guess my question to why we do this is why? Same reason why people stop to look at accidents on the Dan Ryan. To see the fallout, the carnage, To see if anyone survives. Stay tuned.

Spent the holiday up north with the Mrs and the kiddies, Snowmobiling sledding eating and just layin low. I don't think I put 100 miles on the new sled. I used to worry about miles and how much I rode. Not anymore, I did watch Conner and Cassie ride around the yard hundreds of time. Now that was fun!

this weekend its back to the notrhland for the races at Eagle River, I wanted to race there but my Moto Ski vintage sled is not ready yet. Nor is the driver. I need to get some practice in on this thing at some farm ponds and smaller tracks.

How bout that Bears news, Fired everyone but Lovie? Just fire the owners!

What A St Jude radiothon, 975,000.00 not bad for a world that has gone financially insane! If you gave to the kids thank you! The difference a dollar can make in the life of a child is immeasurable!

Just got back from Wisconsin, I put heat in my dads garage up there, I hung a unit heater, Ran the Gas pipe and ran the flue pipe. I still got it!

There a good amount of ice and snow up there so snowmobile season looks to be off to a good start, They got another 5 inch's of snow today so it will be decent for after Christmas, Although I will be working on my race sled and probably wont even hit the trails.

Kudos to the Wisconsin State Trooper that pulled me over Friday night, I suppose he probably thought I was drinking. It was late after the St Jude radiothon, and I was slowing down on the icy corners of hwy 51 than I would speed up on the straight parts of the road. he wrote me a warning and sent me on my way. I guess there is a little good karma left up north!

Here are the new sleds for the 2010 season! big time Iron, The Yellow one is actually my 08 its just a small 600, Not very fast and all stock! I swear, and it must be a 600. That's what the sticker on the side says!

The white one is Ski-Doos 2010 MXZX800RS. Its the Big Dog daddy of the Hyper trail sleds this year.

As you can tell I'm ready for winter.

I think my affection for Brandmier goes back to 1982 when my High school girlfriend said "you have to hear this guy"! I had heard Johnny before when he was out in Phoenix, He called the valley of the sun "the valley of the loons" and as a visitor to Scottsdale I was witness to a promotion where Johnny had thousands of people show up with underwear on their heads! His radio antics are part of my childhood and as a person in Chicago radio he is still the "man"

He did not have his "contact renewed" by the Loop. That's a nice way of saying "your fired" Don't feel bad for Johnny he is set, He made a ton of money. Trust me when I tell you not everyone makes that kind of "morning money", I don't begrudge him I would take the money too! My Friend John Howell always said that we were foundry workers, We made a good living but not anywhere near that!

Johnny will be back on Chicago radio in no time! He has earned it!

In retrospect its a lot easier for a million dollar earner to lose his gig than most of the 10% of Americans that are out of work right now, But getting fired sucks no matter who you are or what you make!

Looks like some snow tomorrow, Snomo race season is almost here and I'm nowhere close to being ready. My sled is in Thief River Falls Mn, The pipes are make and the motor is almost done, But I need to fit the seat, and get the suspension dialed in. Actually I just have to have the Goodwin Perf boys do it! If you have a sled these are the guys to tweak it, 847-872-4001!

Those two words make me smile. The only ones that are better are the three that end in You! I received a text message from Cheyenne that said thanks for the trip to Nashville and how much she appreciates what we do together!

She was my date for the CMA's this year. It was so fun to be able to take her. She has grown up with this station. And you the listeners have been there to listen to me as she grows up. It was cool to just be there and watch Taylor Thur her eyes. If I don't have her I would be like every other early forty country listener that's a Taylor hater. But listen to Taylor Thru the soul of a fifteen year old and shes suddenly the Beetles, Floyd. Zeppelin, Strait you name it!

Funny how what ever, "our" opinion is. Seems to be the truth at least to "us"! Trust me theirs not a single woman under the age of 20 that thinks Taylor shouldn't have won!

It was a good show, The party's were lame. But my company was awesome. Lisa and I can have fun we ever we go. Shes the bold one on the air, I'm the bold one in person trust me when I say we can talk our way into anything! We were not invited to the "cool" party's but to the surprise of those that were at the cool party's we showed up!

How can it happen, that a guy in the military, Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, whatever religion can post crazy crap on the Internet? This guy clearly stated that he wanted to commit mass bombings. He disagreed with the very mission of the US Military. Yet he went undetected?

If you and I posted crazy stuff what do you think would happen to us? I guarantee you were be questioned an hour after we post it.

Funny I seem to do a lot of TV, little hits on the news for my charity causes every now and then. Never big on make up. But the Divine one....That's a whole different story. Today were cutting a promo for ABC to run for 20 seconds. Providing there isn't some big news story that bumps us.

So this morning we roll in the makeup cart that, Is basically the size of a nascar pit box.... The thing here is its a lot of money and the implied thing here is I pick up the tip for the chick (who is Rosanne Barrs twin )who tell me my face is too red, whatever.

Lisa will have lashes put on one by one....make up layered on... all dolled up for a 20 second shot. Now the deal with me is 20 seconds of powder and I'm gonna get the tip? I don't think so. It is what it is with me I can put powder on.

I guess my lashes wont POP!

Well were one day past Halloween and Disney channel is running Christmas stuff already!

Anyone watch that race from Talladega? When is NASCAR going to do something about plate racing? I didn't hear one driver say that today was fun, Im sure the #26 car dug it. But is that anyway to win with half the field wrecking behind you?

Back in the day before the COT these cars could run together but now its like as soon as you get next to another car it just gets loose. Ryan Newman was not happy. That was one hell of a wreck. Hey a nice find on Vintage sleds last night, Actually this was on for a few days its a sweet 1976 RV 250 Ski-Doo. I already have one that I paid too much for. This one makes up for that. If you kind of lost on old sleds and why I mess with them here ya go. I can make this thing like brand new and get a ton of joy just goofing and riding it. It cost 950 bucks. New ones are over 8000.00 and now ya get it don't cha!

Ah its that time of year again, The ritual, The rite if you will. When we turn over butcher knifes to our 6 and 11 year olds and let them loose on the orange squash. Yesterday my kids handled the Chicago Cutlery with precision skill that would have made our neighbor Dr Gregg The surgeon proud!

There they were in there luminescent splendor, The Jack-o-lanterns. all proudly displayed on the fireplace, Intermingled were Conner and Cassie's Pumpkins, all lit up, and there for the little ones to admire. Its a loving secne until one of them touches the other, than ya better grab the knifes cuz its on! God their funny, and it will remain that way until one of them has to wear an eye patch

Happy Birthday to the kids momma, My Bride G, I wont say how old she is. But shes a lot younger than me!

5 cords of wood split up north. I cant tell you how tired I was after this! Riding a bike for 5 days on that cancer ride and over 400 Miles cant even compare!

Funny today there was a caller who wondered why I wasn't at Tim McGraw last night! She was an awesome caller, lots of energy and fun the kind of stuff that make the Ray mans job easy. She was quick to point out that "Lisa was there" where were you?

Well there's a few answers to that question

1. And the most important. My kids. I owe it to them to be home.

2. I was at Tim McGraw Tuesday.

3. The woman who called and asked where I was was actually there using tickets that she got from a friend of mine, Now ....you may ask how that works? she is a good friend of Kim Cook the woman who is the brain trust behind the Pink Ribbon clcylist's, That's the big fundraiser I do raise money for the breast cancer research center at Rush. Kim and I are on the board of directors for the charity. The woman who got the tickets donates a lot of money. So there's the answer to that little question. (bets shes gald I gave up my tickets now)

4 most my free time goes to charity, I love the station events, But there's no way I want to be at all of them. My boss Dave "Rockin" Robbins and I agree that we would be out seven nights a week if we wanted too! but we don't. I cant be out every night (some people choose to run hard that work at the station) I kike to take care of myself. "The night life it ain't no good life and it ain't my life"

5 I'm sure the divine one handled like the pro she is.

Man I got the wood!

I spent the weekend in the Wisconsin North woods Splitting wood and what we call "Pullin Piers".

Every year when the weather turns cold, and my sisters, and cabin germs who came up to use my parents place are as distant of a memory as the summer wind, ...Some thing happens. The boats, the water toy's and the piers that are used for tanning and beer drinking need to be taken out of the water.

Usually when this happens one man is left there wearing camo waders, almost always in the snow doing all the work. That one man is me. year after year after year its me. And I get help from my friend Joe who owns the County Flair Restaurant. Without Joe I couldn't get er done. He weighs 170lbs wet. But really is one of the strongest guys I know. Every year I say I'm gonna sell all this heavy crap and go green. I mean my kayak only weighs a hundred lbs. Only problem.....You cant cruise the lake with a bud and a brat and a crew full of my family's unruly off spring. It's a chore in the fall, but when it goes in in spring its awesome, Its a rite if you will,.... a passage of summertime fun to come! Just like opening day at the ball yard, But disapointing in the fall just like Chicago baseball!

After the Piers were pulled I had a chance to spilt some fire wood, Look at this picture! This will keep mom and dad warm for a few winters! I swear after this weekend I'm tired, and sore. (Think Johnny B does this stuff)

After all that, Mom and dads TV I gave them went out so I had to replace it. After 3 weeks of no TV up there I'm really surprised she didn't throw the old boy out. When he yells Hey Pat, I swear the coyotes show up!

I got pulled over in Wisconsin, When I was pulled over! I was on a HWY 51 on ramp(way over to the side with hazard flashers on) learning how to use my hands free feature on my phone, When a Wis Trooper pulled up to see if I was OK. I laughed, I even get pulled over for being pulled over! He was a nice guy. we talked about my truck for 20 minutes.

My crew is feeling better, But my sisters kids have the swine flu! OMG ! My sister looks ten years younger in that face mask!

Gov Pat wants to make tomorrow Tim McGraw day. What ever Patrick want Patrick gets!

All i could think of yesterday was what would it be like if I had to tell my wife that my Boy was floating over the state in an out of control hot air balloon weather space ship thingy?

Wow, there i was glued to CNN and the Wolf Blitzer. My god I hope the boys OK, they go to the balloon-spacecraft-science experiment and no BOY!!! Oh o! the it turns serious,

Now we turn to a screen where some dude is speculating whether the spec under the balloon is a:

1, spot on the lens

2, A goose in the Colorado sky

3, a little boy falling from the Colorado sky. Oh CRAP what now?

Well turns out, as you might imagine its a crazy lunatic father who's a part time scienteiet-weatherman-wifeswapping-nutbagsac!

Was this whole drama a scam so this attention grabbing family can be back on the small screen? was John and Kate plus their crazy brude getting too much attention? In Ray Land we call this crew a bunch of D bags.

The Great Pumpkin

Really, the star of our show today Don Young, The farmer for Des Moines who took his 1658 lb pumpkin to California to win the state pumpkin weigh off. he won just under 10 grand! Last week Taylor Swift, this week Don Young,....Pumpkin man.

Taylor Swift, Wow what a show. My kids had the time of their life. If shes not the entertainer of the year, that will just prove what a racket this whole thing is! That was by far the biggest production of any show ever. She writes em' Sings em' and put on an elaborate show that surpasses any thing out there ever! And after all that she simply inspires young girls to feel good about themselves. That last thing, Is what makes me really love her. And her mother Andrea keeps it all in line. What a cool family. She deserves all she has!

Time to get up north and take mom and dads boat out of the water. I was there for vacation in the last weekend of Sept, and should have taken the pier and the boat out then but dad said no. Some I will be in 40 degree water (with waders) this weekend. Yay. Next year aluminium pier. easier to take out!

I have been rather busy with the ol' facebook crap lately. I was friend requested by Cheyennes Boyfriend, So I have been checking it out. He's a nice kid. But that ain't gonna sway me! I'm the crazy old man!

I have also started to call his High school football coach out to play the kid more. I'm sure my daughter just loves that!

Tomorrow its Taylor thank God, Or as my Jewish friend Greg would write than G_d, I'm happy for the kids that got thickets but OMG, I have never been beat up so bad for tickets. Here's the deal. US99 makes us buy our tickets. The station actually gave me two tickets to the show. I had an agreement with my last boss that the station at least cover my wife and kids for most shows. that seldom happens. Gina and the kids don't get off on the whole Radio, backstage thing. Thankfully. Its very overtated!

Gina is losing weight fast! she looks good! Now I have been in workout mode for many years. Lately she has been putting out junk food so I get fat. Her downfall is Fannie Mae turtles. The other day I bought home a box for her! Oh I can play games!
The box was gone in a half day!

Wow! Is this city loaded with EGO or what? How bout the faces in the crowd when we learned we were dead last in Olympic bidding? How could it be? were Chicago the greatest city in the world!

I guess were the only ones that think that. The headlines on Dredge read" Obama the Ego has landed" How could the rock star contingent of the President his stunning wife and the great and all knowing Omnipotent Op not bring the games to Chicago?

Could it be the corruption? the crime rate? both...I don't think so. Would you take your chances in Chicago on a Friday night at 2am or Rio? It has been said that in international circles that Chicago and Illinois are seen as not only corrupt but broke as well. Not good. I feel for the workers of our city and the thousands of jobs we have lost for the next eight years.

who's to blame? was it a bad presentation? was President too lackadaisical in his jetting to Copenhagen for twenty minutes, saying that he's from Chicago and expecting he would just be handed the games? should we blame him? I don't think so. Do we blame this city that most of us love? Nope. do we feel embarrassed by the loss, the fact that we were never even really a contender? Hell no, who cares? were Chicago who needs the games we have the bears and Jay cutlers awe inspiring spiral! the wolves, the hawks, the Batavia Bulldogs, the Bears, Sox, Cubs, we have it all! Theres the Ego I spoke of earlier!

For now all I can do is wait till I make that phone call to that guy at the Copa Hotel in Rio that I have been harassing (in fun) the last three days. and do what we Chicagoans fear the most....admit that I was wrong and congratulate them on the games, After all Chicago that sting that we feel from never really having had a chance......That's pride messing with us. Well, were fully back from vacation. I thought I would post a few pictures of what my vacation was compared to the "Divine one's" AKA Lisa Dent.

Lisa was hanging in Nashville with Kid Rock and John Rich, Now I'm not sure what that entailed, But none the less she was in Nashvegas living the high life and Rockin it out.

I was in St Germain Wis framing a shed that my dad is turning into a bunk house. Its funny every year I go up there without my kids and wife so I can help the guy do some work. It used to be that this guy was the brains of the operation. Time has turned the tables and now (hard to believe) I have to do the thinking. And I'm cool with that but everything we do is a process. My mom calls him "Captain Doom".

So while Lisa's Rollin in Nashville,.... I'm hanging with Captain Doom? I really wouldn't have it any other way. I used to love the "crowd" and hang on the buses, But I have out grown that phase. Now I get lost every chance I get.

I still love the nightlife, But I will take the Northvegas over Nashvegas any day!

Big weekend in Northern Wisconsin! went to my first Packers game in Lambeau! And the pack lost ....how cool is that? since I'm on vacation this will be a brief entry! I thought I would show you the difference between a packer and a bear fan!

And here are the three throphys from the big Eagle River vintage snowmobile show! I won for the 67 Ski-doo I just restored, and my 72 Ski-doo, as well as my 76 Moto-ski a good weekend!

Going to Eagle River this weekend For the Derby track reunion. I'm bringing four of my sleds to the show that should do well. I have been up late most every night for the past four weeks trying to get the sleds ready.

Thanks to my Buddie Kurt Krumm at Goodwin Performance for all the help with my vintage stuff, without him I don't have anything worth showing, Than there's a guy called "Detail Tom" down on Chicago's southwest side, (cant disclose his locale he doesn't want any more work) He makes aluminium look like a mirror. And I have to mention my friend Carl Kupka, He gets all my chrome done for me. And never lets me pay! As the song goes "you find out who your friends are" this is a goofy habit, But as dad says it keeps me out of the bars.

Day four of no Kayne! the controversy is settling' down, but still I refuse to play and more hip hop on US99. I have even sold my Bentley!

Vacation next week, Get ready for the best (sort 0f best) of of Lisa and Ray all next week.

And look at yesterdays blog where I say Taylor will come out and speak up for West. Yesterday on the View she accepted his apology and will meet with him! The duet to follow soon! This is a major coo for Taylor and her label!

My baby Cheyenne was on the air today, Its homecoming time and her Boyfriend has not figured out a way to asked her yet. I guess it has to be a major event! Stay tuned. I hate watching my baby grow up. Shes funny.

Will there ever be a Urlacher Linebacker again?

Whoa! the most searched topic on Google yesterday was Urllachers season ending injury. And all at once a promising season was just put into perspective. Its funny how I look at the Bears now. As a young adult I would die when this team lost. Now these guys are friends of mine and it gets hard to judge.

There have been several occasions this year where I have met Jay Cutler. Hes a good kid, Trust me he wants to win so bad here its sick I don't know how he handles the pressure.

As for #54 I know his brother fairly well, and Casey has talked Brian to joining us on the air on several occasions. That's a big deal to have him on the show. Cuz the press isn't always good to him. He is a hall of fame player, we should be glad hes a bear. Sure he has had some issues but so have I, Don't we all? it just gets magnified when your a multimillion dollar player. I hope we see another season out of him But....if we don't it will be fine he will always be on of the great Bears.

I was texting Olsen and Robbie yesterday they seem pretty bummed about the game. Olsen is healthy. and Robbie toes are fine!

Kayne....wow. You pick on a girl. Than go on Leno and snivel and say your sorry? I accept the apology and it seemed genuine. But what does your crew say? your hommies? I was up in Wisconsin over the weekend, I made it a point to get out early and be home for the big game. You don't want to be in Wisconsin when the bears play the Pack, and you certainly don't want to be there when the bears lose.

Urlacher out with a bad wrist and the D falls apart. And what happened to our guy Jay? four picks? was it the ghost of Rex? Hester looked good. But what was up with the receivers blown patterns leads to more interceptions. Next week we have the Steelers. whoa! Watch for Jay to have a breakout game. I will tell you now Bears win.

Kayne West. What a POS! Are you kidding me? this guys a punk. Hey West next time your in town lets get in a cage. I will whip your @#$%%!

Madonna getting sued by the country of Bulgaria. I guess there was a boat accident with 15 deaths. You see she had a concert on a high religious Holiday there, The country's officials say her concert brought bad luck to the country which caused the accident and the subsequent deaths. I have no funny line for this. I just agree, Beware bad Madonna music can kill. Hey here ya go. I hear that new Madonna CD is killer.

From Michigan Av to Farm and Fleet.

I was all over Chicago land yesterday. After I got off the air it was north to Goodwin Performance to get a motor for one of my race sleds. Than out to Brouch Designs to pick up the hood for the 67 you see in the pictures, Dan Brouch is an artist friend of mine. He helps with all paintwork and decals for my restoration stuff.

After visiting with Dan in Yorkville it was over to the Farm and Fleet in Montgomery. than into my garage to try and get my 67 ready for the Eagle River show.

My wife and kids think I'm nuts. I love this stuff. I suppose my next project should be a bathroom remodel. But I know it will be my 76 Ski-Doo 250. Its hard to know if this thing will do well at the shows, No matter how nice you think your work is there's always someone with one nicer.

The work in the garage kept me away from my run and ride yesterday so today will be a double, that's a run and a ride along with lifting. I need to keep working out!

Tonight the stars of the WWE head to the south side to hang with AJ and the Sox. I think I may have to take my boy! We were at the WWE event and he was nuts. Well today I find out that one of his wrastlin favs "Hornswaggle" who's a little guy that lives under the ring will be there! What can be better than the WWE and the White Sox!

I don't get the hype that is Oprah. But it puts our city front and center on her show Thursday, I don't think we would have a whole lot in common but we both love Chicago and that's a good thing!

Did your kids watch the Pres? I'm more right than left, (but Pat Quinn who's a dem has my loyalty and support) But really? parents worried about what Obama is is going to tell our kids c'mon! Time to support this guy, its a pep speech for the love of God!

So our boss comes into the studio this morning and we talk of the ridiculous closing of Michigan av for the all great Omnipotent O. Oprah is closing down the street for her season premiere! Of course in the land of the ladies on the morning show this is a glorious event! at the mere mention of the divine "O" the angels come down and sing.

well that got me to thinkin' why not grab a US99 artist and come to your town? so that's what I'm going to try and do! Who knows who it might be ?but look for this to happen soon!

How is it that the son of a sheet metal worker can do a Monday morning race report and have it pro mt a phone call from the Vice President of the Bristol Motor Speedway? Rumors from a few listeners that called in after a trip to the classic fall race, said (allegedly) that tickets were being givin out and that the town was not as crowed as it usually is. I guess someone who listens to the show is buddies with the VP and called him. He had his assistant call and e-mail me to call him ASAP! Do you think Jerry Angelo of the Bears calls radio stations after someone says something about the Bears? Don't think so! But this is how NASCAR rolls, If I had NASCARS ear I would lower prices and do something about the COT quick!

Usually on any given night I can be found tinkering with my stuff in the garage(and that's not code)

Last night I spent cleaning my shower, and roding Ginas hair out of the drain. I swear there is no way anyone can be losing that much hair! then I cleaned the thing. I swear my garage is cleaner than that thing! just gross. I think my entire bathroom just needs to be remodeled.

Cool to talk with Randy Travis today, We should have played his version of I told you so, But we live in a Taylor Swift Carrie Underwood world. My apology's to Randy and you his fans.

My twin sister patty just sent her kids off to their first day of public school. Rachelle is a freshman Easton is in Jr high. Her kids decided that they wanted to go public, Hell why not they live in a great district and why pay all those taxes and not use the schools? My sister always was the spoiled little favorite!

Big workout day yesterday, I don't know why I did this but, I ran 3 miles swam a half mile and rode my bike 13. that basically a sprint triathlon. I'm feeling it today but I need a breakthrough. I have been about 10 lbs heavier than I want to be all summer. I'm not a big runner but it was an easy run yesterday. I'm sure I will pay for it later today.

The Op is closing down Michigan av? Really I'm gonna puke.

Daddy let me drive part II

Big Weekend! It started with a win for the Oswego Panthers, They were led by my teenage daughters awesome Cheer leading!

Saturday it was the Chicago Shoreline marathon, this was supposed to be a 4 mile relay on the big lake but the waves were 3 to 4 footers and we had to shorten the course. My team was John Garcia from ABC 7, The very lovely Ginger Z from NBC 5, and our ringer was Tracy a fearless young lady from Abbot labs, (she would have kayaked all the way to Michigan)

To be honest it was a little daunting for me, I'm used to a 30 plus powerboat with twin big blocks. This kayaking thing is cool! I had a blast. And I finished 1st on my leg. We would have won but John Garcia dumped and had to be recoverd by the US Coast Gaurd!

I thought I would post another picture of the 67 Ski-Doo I'm building its coming along and should be ready for the Eagle River show.

I drove with Cheyenne yesterday. We went to my friend Brad the farmers place out in Maple Parkansaw. Shes a good driver. If you have driven for any amount of time, you like me,are probably a "bad driver"! I was amazed that she actually stops at the stop signs! goes the speed limit, and is courteous. That will end in a year! There was some punk tailgating (and I mean close) I will be honest I did flash a few gestures at him. He got the hint. But seeing as I had my 15 and 6 year old in the car I had to try and act my age which is very hard for me!

This morning we were talking "Baby Moons" this has to be the woman's idea! What dude wants to go on a baby moon? This is something my Ex would have done. Gina wouldn't want anyone to see her pregnant. Two weeks Before she had Cassie she was on the roof of an RV watching the NASCAR races at Chicagoland Speedway! Perhaps that was our "Baby Moon"

Last night I stayed up way too late working on one of my vintage sleds. It almost won, I swear this thing was alive, I think we actually wrestled! It did fall on me too as I was trying to get the jackshaft into the chaincase. On a new sled it would have taken 20 minutes. On this old POS it was two hours!

I will have more pictures right now the garage looks like a wreck. I should have the majority of it done by Sunday.

Friday night lights, Tonight my baby Chey has her first football game as a varsity cheerleader. I remember last years first game was rainy too. I hope the weather holds out go Panthers!

Con man starts football today as well. I think Cassies kinda gets the shaft. I think I will have to ask her mom if its time for her to race snowmobiles! Or hunt, or fish with me!

Yesterday was the 12th year for me and my child bride. I got her a Spanish card that said Annevesario. I think she liked it. Funny as time goes by how things kind of get simple. With G it's always been about the card. She got me a card and some Fannie may. Inside her card she found a crisp 5 dollar bill. The money went in my sons piggy bank. The candy went into cassie!

I thought I would post a few pictures of my current sled restoration. This is a 1967 Ski-Doo Chalet. Its not much in the way of power, I think its 8 hp. It was a gift from a US99 listener "Cowboy Bill" Its been a year since i got it and I should have it done by next weekend.

I can handle these little projects, my race sleds are all put together by Goodwin Performance on Green Bay rd In Zion.

Good Friday!

Lots to do this weekend, My Buddie Brad the Farmers kids band is playing Elburn days this weekend. Mention you heard about it on US99 AND you should (should) get a free ear of uncooked sweet corn. Now is this a high line program or what?

Looks like Gina and my babies may be heading to Michigan this weekend to visit her bro. Hes heading up to the UP to work on the bridge for a year! (Build one bridge!) hes jacked cuz he's a sledder as well!

For me looks like a weekend of bike riding and working on my current vintage snowmobile restoration. Its a 1967 Ski-Doo Chalet. Not something I would normally be infested in but it was a gift from a friend. Nice gift too. It cost him a few hundred I will have 10X that into it. and the sad part is it will never be worth much. But it will be a cool very nicely done piece.

This is the last weekend before school starts! I think Gina's ready, My son Conner is driving her nuts! He wants a African Macaw. and hes currently trying to get Gina out to every Subway to win some stupid 100,000 game on their large size drink. Kids!

As you may have heard my new fav show is Operation Repo. It a ridiculous show. A group of heavy set repo men and women who repo in LA and catch it on film. This AM we spoke to a Chicago Repo dude and Im gonna ride with him...Hence Operation Raypo.

Pat Green just walked in He says the chick who looks like a guy who ran in the 800 meeter race, Is a dude I agree. Gender test? give me a break. Drop em and lets figure it out!

Started putting together some sleds last night it's time baby. Before you know it it will be snow and race season.

Kids back to school in a week, and the halloween and Thanksgiving stuff is out yay

Every time we get a visit from the Gov its fun, He really is a genuinely nice guy. He never has a bad word about anyone and he works hard for the state.

And when it comes to taking care of Illinois military personnel there simply is no one that does more.

But when hes in the US99 Studios hes a kid in a closet, And he sings and may I say he sings .......badly. Its almost uncomfortable. No let me rephrase, It is uncomfortable. Its really really bad. His staff just looks around like OMG! he's singing what do we do now!

God its funny! and now hes smells better cuz I gave him a bottle of that cheap Tim Mcgraw Cologne that smells like that Avon stuff my mom used to sell.

Peeps who know me, know I usually lean to the right, no I will just say it I'm from the Conservative side of the street, But when it comes to this guy If I thought it would help him in any way I would campaign for him. He really is trying to help this messed up state that resembles New Jersey.

And what other Governor has the love of country music that Pat has?! I mean every time George Strait come to town he proclaims it George Strait day. Now if he just sang like him!

Spoke with Naomi Judd today again, She was pumping up the CMT show Can you Duet"

Today she was all over the crazy talk again, Saying she dated a CIA agent and that Ashley and Wy thought he was going to have chip implanted in them so they could be watched!

She took a swipe at me about the size of my brain compared to the average American brain, I took a shot right back, Lets compare brain size to the amount of time my kids will spend in counseling compared to hers! (that's not the part I shared on the air I try not to be mean) I said her bootie was a lil larger than average American!

She actually likes me, I think she forgets that when she was here she was all over me. And that's a fact. Shes a hoot! God bless Wynonna!

She hangs out with scientists from Fermi Lab that sounds like a party any way you look at it!

Go Go Sox. Tonight its the Sox and Cleveland, taking the crew with me. And Cheyenne is bringing her little Cubs boyfriend. My idea is I will take him somewhere south of town and toss him out of the car around 11 or 12? what do you think?

As the days gets longer!

Well the ride is over, four days near 400 miles of Gatorade, water and Power bars. Funny how your body reacts to lack of sleep and endless hours on a bike seat.

This year I have to say I was stronger than ever. The hills on day two were easy. the 100 miles one day one and three No problem at all. My problem is the way this group rides! they stop and drink beer! Beer dehydrates, Its about the worst thing you can do when on an extreme bike ride. But that's how this group rolls, and somehow it works for them. For me I just enjoy the ride!and I attack it That's why I finish ahead of everyone else, I don't do that to be first or pound my chest. The faster you finish the quicker your off the seat. The quicker your off the seat the fresher you are for the next day. Thats why as the day gets longer the smart riders get stronger!

Next time you and your crew head north to the badger state get off the beaten path, Hit the back roads and check out how cool the rolling hills and farms of the Dairyland state really are.
